Early Childhood Outreach Role

Early Childhood Outreach

Tēnā koutou katoa, my name is Anthony,

First of all, it’s a pleasure to be in the role of Early Childhood Outreach Facilitator and I look forward to working alongside you and your tamariki in transitioning between ECE and Primary School.

I am 46 years old, from the UK and have been in New Zealand for the past 12 years. I immigrated with my partner who is a primary school teacher and although we do not have children of our own, we are foster parents and I have worked with tamariki of all ages on both a personal and professional level for some years in different employment roles.

I am a passionate individual who has had experience working in educational, and community settings for tamariki that have been excluded from main stream education, as well as youth that have found themselves in the youth justice arena.

On a personal level, my partner and I are caregivers for Oranga Tamariki and currently foster 2 boys, 5 and 6 years old. We also provide respite care for a physically disabled boy to ensure the family get the opportunity to take a breath and get to do the fun activities that their other children sometimes miss out on.

As well as going to the gym, tramping and enjoying the great outdoors, I love nothing more than spending time with our dog and renovating our home.

I am true believer that ‘No child should be left behind’ and I strive for equity, excellence and belonging for all. Building and strengthening our educational relationships together is something that I am looking forward to.

I hope to meet with you soon.
